I have failed recently in my administration duties and have not posted in quite some time.
We have a new contest starting that we hope will spur interest and participation. It’s called Motorcycle Chop. You are to take any image of a motorcycle and do anything to it. This can be color changes, modifications, place it where a motorcycle should not be, anything!

Our newest photoshop tutorial “how to select a circular object” from an image shows you how to use guides to select a circular region in your image perfectly each time.

It is designed for the beginner but anyone who has never used guides for this technique may benefit.

Circle selection

 We have a new Photoshop tutorial recently added at Chop N Crop. The tutorial is for beginners on up and shows how to create transparent text on any image.
Once you have learned this technique it can be done in 1 min. or less. In the example below I have gone just a little beyond the tutorial. I have added a Stroke to the blending options.

 I’m not one who uses tutorials very much. I don’t like reading instructions either. I want to just getin there and get started. There comes a time though when learning by the seat of your pants just doesn’t take you any further. This is where tutorials come in.

Finding a tutorial for what you want to do can be a bit daunting. I find myself looking for one thing and see something else that interests me and before it’s over I have 5 or 6 new bookmarks.

I have learned quite a bit through this process so I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. The thing that I have really appreciated is finding new, (and many times better), ways to do things that I already knew how to do.

Now If I can just start memorizing the shortcut keys.

Recently I’ve been trying to make our presence on the internet more visible, hence this blog. Listing with directories, getting relevant back-links. I even got a MySpace page and joined a group there.

If you are reading this then my efforts have not been all in vain. It amazes me the things I have learned about website promotion all in the name of starting a site for my hobby.

 We have set up this site for all photoshop enthusiests, pro and amature, to have fun editing photos and images to our humorus delight. As our membership increases we will have contests, eventually with “valuable” prizes. In the interim we are “chopping” images, posting resource links, tutorials, and just having fun!
